Cardinal Murphy-O'Connor is said to have endorsed the Tory Party on the basis of the abortion issue. So who does one vote for on the basis of attacking poverty, providing decent health and education services, not playing political games with terrorism legislation, sticking with international refugee obligations rather than sending people back to where they'll be tortured or murdered, increasing international aid, providing homes for young families and increasing the numbers of police so people are less likely to be victims of crime?
Or does the Cardinal not think these should be issues of concern to Catholics?
I don't think the Pope likes, gays, abortionists or warmongers. Bad news for the Tories is he doesn't like free market capitalism either.
